This was my first time buying a car through a Japanese auction, even though I've owned seven Japanese cars over the years—from a 1986 Toyota Mark II to a 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser 100. This time, I decided to go with a 2023 Daihatsu Taft, a compact kei car, and had it shipped to Omsk. I paid the invoice on March 20, 2026, and picked up the car in Omsk on May 9, 2026. Considering the spring storms in the Sea of Japan, I was impressed by how quickly it arrived. The whole process was much easier than I expected. As long as you follow the team's guidance, everything is straightforward. They explain each step, keep you informed, and are always there to help. The hardest part is simply deciding which car you want and what your budget is. While waiting to complete the registration, I had a chance to drive the car for a few days, and it has exceeded my expectations. It's compact on the outside but surprisingly spacious inside—four adults, even around 180 cm (5'11"), fit comfortably. My wife even says the rear seat is more comfortable than the one in our Toyota Land Cruiser 100. The panoramic glass roof makes the cabin feel even more open, and the modern driver assistance features—like lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and automatic stop/start in traffic—are fantastic.
